Yesterday, HBO dropped a teaser for a its new TV show Vinyl. The show, which will premiere next year, is brought to you by the superstar team of Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter (of Boardwalk Empire and Sopranos fame). HBO describes the show, set in 1970s New York, as follows:
A ride through the sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip-hop, the show is seen through the eyes of a record label president, Richie Finestra, played by Bobby Cannavale, who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path.
In addition, to Cannavale, the show features Olivia Wilde and Ray Romano, among others.
Start me up. I mean, sign me up. It is no secret that the Trust Tree team loves HBO. From Sopranos to GoT to John Oliver (and soon Bill Simmons!), we are huge fans. We are also huge fans because HBO understands the value of a good trademark. HBO has hundreds of federally registered trademarks. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that last week, just before unleashing the Vinyl teaser, HBO filed two trademark applications for the mark VINYL.
